Allegro, the renowned Polish online marketplace, has extended its reach to Slovakia with a dedicated website. This move follows the platform’s successful expansion into the Czech Republic last year and sets the stage for further launches across Europe.
Founded in 1999, Allegro has solidified its position as a leading e-commerce platform in Poland, boasting significant revenue growth. With nearly 150 thousand merchants currently active on its Polish marketplace, Allegro’s expansion into new territories signals its commitment to broader European market penetration.
Building on the momentum gained from its Czech Republic launch, where it garnered 1.6 million active buyers in just one quarter, Allegro aims to replicate its success in Slovakia. Market research indicates that almost half of the Slovak population is already familiar with the Allegro brand, positioning the platform for rapid growth in the region.
This expansion aligns with Allegro’s broader international strategy to establish a strong presence in Europe, with a focus on Central and Eastern European markets. With plans to enter Hungary, Slovenia, and Croatia on the horizon, Allegro’s entry into Slovakia serves as a strategic step in its ambitious growth trajectory.
